CSEA activists to attend AFSCME Lobby Day

Hundreds of CSEA activists from across the state will meet with their state legislators as part of AFSCME Lobby Day Tuesday.
CSEA members and other AFSCME members will urge legislators to oppose the governor's Tier 6 pension plan, close corporate tax loopholes and to support general fairness for workers in the state budget....

1)      Being custodian of all Local funds

2)      Balance monthly bank records

3)      File annual reports......

The 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks is approaching and CSEA is honoring all of those who lost their lives to the attacks, including 2,753 people at the World Trade Center. Among those who lost their lives at the World Trade Center are CSEA members Yvette Anderson, Florence Cohen, Harry Goody, Marian "Marty" Hrycak and Dorothy Temple....

NYSHIP: Life Expectancy Table for CSEA Represented State Employees Effective 10/1/11

The Actuarial Table of Life Expectancy has been updated to reflect the fact that Americans are living longer. This will impact the monthly sick leave credit amount that is used toward your premium payments in retirement. Since we are living longer, the number of months of life expectancy at retirement has increased and the amount of monthly sick leave credit will be lower. The new table will apply to employees represented by CSEA who retire on or after October 1, 2011.

NYS/CSEA Collective Bargaining Agreement: Deficit Reduction Leave Implementation The state Department of Civil Service and the state Division of Budget have released memoranda related to the implementation of the newly negotiated Deficit Reduction Leave. 

State contract ballots mailed

Ballots are in the mail to CSEA-represented state Executive Branch employees on the union's tentative agreement on a five-year contract with New York state. The contract language was mailed to members earlier this week.
